The Specialty Clinical Consultant (SCC) is an expert in the field of specialty pharmacy trends and management tactics. The SCC will develop data-driven strategic insights and trend management opportunities within the specialty pharmacy space. This individual will track client specialty pharmacy performance and industry trends, proactively suggest clinical best practices and criteria recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license
- 3+ years of experience working as a licensed pharmacist
- 2+ years of Specialty Pharmacy related experience
- Experience working for a PBM and / or Health Plan in a client-facing account management role with external clients (beyond patients and prescribers)
- Experience developing and delivering formal presentations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical account management experience
- Experience working with complex clients with complex benefit structures
- Formalized sales skills training
- Formalized leadership skills training
- Formalized presentation skills training

They are responsible for fostering consultative relationships with large, complex and/or strategic clients and the account teams that support the clients. The Specialty Clinical Consultant is expected to maintain strategic relationships with client leaders and key internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide superior consultation with a focus on trend management, client satisfaction, and client retention and clinical outcomes
- Provide routine reporting to clinical leadership regarding milestone attainment and any significant issues within their segment that may be impacting overall team performance
- Ensures alignment of PBM clinical priorities with strategic goals and objectives of the overall organization and client
- Collaborates with clients to establish achievable but aggressive trend management goals
- Formulates and delivers clinically-sound and fiscally responsible recommendations to clients based on their data
- Maintains subject-matter-expert knowledge of specialty pharmacy and market forces and delivers intelligence to internal partners and clients
- Communicates drug information to clients and responds to plan-specific clinical inquiries in a timely manner
- Routinely collaborates with clinical consulting and client management leadership peers to provide well-coordinated, impactful quarterly performance review sessions with clients where appropriate
- Collaborates with client management to formulate and deliver specialty renewal strategies
- Drives enhanced client relationships through senior-level strategic discussions and planning which addresses issues of highest priority for the client
- Consistently looks at existing processes, methods, and materials to find opportunities for improvement
- Maintains strategic relationships with client leaders, key stakeholders, and brokers/consultants
- Supports sales and marketing including participating in RFP/finalist activities as needed based on current standard operating procedure
