Primary Locations: USA-California-Fontana (San Bernardino County) and Riverside

Opportunity to join an established pediatric gastroenterology clinical practice comprised of inpatient consultations/rounding, ambulatory clinic, endoscopic procedures, and virtual medicine. Pediatric Gastroenterology at Southern California Permanente Medical Group currently consists of 13 Pediatric Gastroenterologists across the Southern California region. Together, we care for the KP Southern California population which currently spans 4.6 million members and over 1 million pediatric members.

We are recruiting a full-time Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our group in San Bernardino County (SBC) and Riverside. KP Fontana Medical Center is a member of the Children's Hospital Association and is one of three tertiary medical centers in the Kaiser Permanente Pediatric Care (KPPC) network. At SBC and Riverside, we serve as the primary centers of care for the diverse pediatric population of the "Inland Empire" area. Our services include pediatric hospitalists, NICU, PICU, and emergency department. We place great emphasis on fostering a strong culture of collaboration and support among pediatric medical and surgical specialties not only between SBC and Riverside areas but also across the KP Southern California region. Finally, we play an active role in training the next generation of physicians both in teaching resident physicians and as a designated clerkship site for the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine.

Potential clinical roles include:

• Outpatient consultation and follow-up care
• Inpatient consultation and rounding
• Performing endoscopic procedures
• Providing virtual medical care
• Potential travel between clinical sites for outreach clinics
• Physician-physician advice via telephone and electronic advice communication tools
• Shared call schedule with other KP pediatric GI physicians
• Opportunity for mentorship and clinical teaching of KP School of Medicine students.

About the area
SCPMG San Bernardino County serves a population in the northeastern section of the LA Basin that's as diverse topographically as culturally. High-desert hiking, skiing at Big Bear, water-skiing on Lake Arrowhead, and mountain biking on Mt. Baldy are all close by--as are very affordable options for home-buying. Physicians and staff members enjoy the seasons, with fall colors and prominent views of snow-capped mountains. The area also offers a variety of dining, entertainment, and cultural options.

The Riverside area is a convenient gateway to Southern California's natural wonders, with excellent proximity to the San Bernardino National Forest, Big Bear Lake, and Lake Arrowhead (hiking, snow- and water-skiing), as well as the low and high deserts--including Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park. Riverside itself has a nice, modern downtown, and our area offers relatively affordable housing and less traffic than others in the region.
