Highlights
Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, is the largest teaching facility in the state operating 625 beds, 15-bed adult inpatient unit, an active consultation-liaison service, an emergency department service with a secured holding unit, and a large ECT program.
The collaborative multi-disciplinary team provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of hospitalized patients. This position will lead the coordination of care with members of the treatment team.
The hospital-based clinical services are an active site for IUSM medical students, IU Psychiatry residents, Psychology interns, and other learners. Creative thinking and collaboration of services within the academic health center and community organizations will be a crucial component of the role.
Must be comfortable managing hospitalized patients with severe mental illness, and interact with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds in a tactful and professional manner.
Academic rank and track are flexible depending on the experience and expertise of the candidate.
Qualifications
Board eligible/Board certified in ABMS Psychiatry residency program
Indiana state medical license, or ability to obtain
Experience with hospital-based, acute care is desirable but not required
