This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Primary Care Staff Physician has responsibility for providing primary care to a defined panel of primary care patients. The physician will provide direct patient care full time and work as a member of a patient aligned care team (PACT) comprised of a nurse care manager (R.N.), a clinical associate (Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant), and an administrative assistant to provide care for a population of veterans. The expanded healthcare team includes a social worker, dietician, clinical pharmacist, and behavioral health clinician. Working with the PACT, the incumbent is responsible to contribute to the achievement of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement and patient satisfaction within the Primary Care Division, in particular to the incumbent's assigned panel of Primary Care patients. The incumbent is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. The incumbent practices as an independent provider utilizing direct face-to-face visits, telephone visits, and veteran video connect visits (VVC). The incumbent may be assigned to any of the outpatient clinics within the catchment area of the VA Portland Health Care System. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. varying tours.
