Responsible for the technical configuration and administration of system, utility, database, and application software technology used within the IT organization. Acts as the liaison between the hardware systems engineering staff and applications staff to properly configure operating system and middleware software needed for the proper running of any business application or utility.
Balances and prioritizes workloads effectively among support maintenance, operations and other assigned work.
Completes complex work assignments independently, self-motivated to flush out gaps in business requirements or goals, and documents and confirms clearly the key understandings.
Maintains overall Epic Cogito system environment including monitoring and tuning of performance and capacity.
Creates and maintains documents and diagrams depicting system architecture, processes, and related IT functions.
Coordinates work with vendor (e.g. Epic Corporation) and internal engineering groups on hardware troubleshooting and component replacements.
Assists leadership with defining project tasks and estimates as necessary.
Trains other technical staff by on-the-job direction and guidance.
Evaluates software packages related to assigned duties and makes recommendations to management pertaining to acquisition and use.
Assists with disaster recovery preparedness and testing of applicable technology.
Maintains and tests processes related to business continuity of the Epic Cogito systems.
Responds to emergency and after-hours issues.
Participates in On-call Rotation.
Modifies the Epic/custom ETL process to meet organizational reporting needs.
Ensures optimal performance and integrity of Epic/custom ETL process by maintaining Epic best practices.
Schedules and monitors a recurring Clarity/Caboodle extract process.
Adds new tables and columns to extracts as needed.
Verifies the Clarity/Caboodle ETL process completes every day.
Troubleshoots, performs root cause analysis, and resolves Clarity/Caboodle Console, ETL process, Epic BI, Epic Cubes, and Cogito server errors.
Installs, configures, maintains, and upgrades the Clarity/Caboodle Console servers and respective databases.
Works with the Operations team or report writers to provide data needed for reports as well as operational support as needed.
Works with Cogito Database administrators to verify and troubleshoot database performance or system issues.
Stays current with Epic documentation and system requirements by keeping up with Nova documentation and CEEs.
Installs, configures, maintains, and upgrades Epic Cubes, BI integration, and SlicerDicer infrastructure.
Assists in troubleshooting issues revolving around Epic Cubes, BI integration, and SlicerDicer infrastructure.
Coordinates with report writers and Operations team on environment strategy through the development, testing, and production phases as appropriate.
Maintains knowledge of reporting processes and assisting end users with access and data issues.
Coordinates, communicates, and executes planned upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance of BI application platform servers.
Communicates issues and gathers troubleshooting information to facilitate issue resolution with third-party BI application support.
