J OB SUMMARY:
U nder direction of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to the basic patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Actual job tasks may vary depending on the unit or department assigned.
M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
H igh school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
A bility to use effective communication skills to allow you to work with patients, families and caregivers.
A bility to obtain competency in assisting nurses with patient care as delegated.
A bility to follow oral and written directions accurately and thoroughly, and observe/respond to needs of patients.
A bility to prioritize and organize work.
E xperience and comfort with using computers.
P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B LS preferred; must receive certification within three months of start date.
N urse Aide Certificate.
M edical Assistant Certification/Diploma.
E MT Certification.
E xperience working in an acute care setting.
