The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage, Alaska seeks an Ophthalmologist to join our growing team of four physicians. As a Level II Trauma center, the highest trauma designation in Alaska, ANMC represents over 20 medical specialties, serves as the tertiary referral center for the Alaska Native and American Indian people across the state, and is the only Magnet-designated hospital for nursing excellence in Alaska.
As a hospital based practice, you will manage inpatients and outpatients, with exposure to the entire scope of the specialty including interesting trauma cases. Our Ophthalmologists operate three full days per month in state-of-the-art operating rooms and manage outpatients four to five days per week in a modern, well-equipped clinic. On call responsibilities are 1:5 weeks and include inpatient management, consultations and providing emergency care. Additional responsibilities include managing patients at field clinics and regional hospitals throughout Alaska, as well as providing telemedicine consults utilizing our world renowned Alaska Federal Access Health Care Network – www.afhcan.org. Qualifications: Completion of ACGME/AOA approved Ophthalmology residency; BE/BC in Ophthalmology; collaborative team player; excellent communication skills; culturally sensitive.
